Poetry Series – Channel

Do you ever feel like you’re seeing a perspective too tall for your body? Does that even make sense? I have yet to meet someone else that says yes but sometimes, out of nowhere, I’m suddenly seeing much too high for whatever would be picked up by my bodily eyes.
Do you ever smell smells that maybe aren’t there? The only one to smell them as they permeate the air? What about sounds that creep in like a buzz? People turn up the sound to cover the hum. Do you feel the pull on your head, tugging for attention before an idea pops in that you’ve never heard mentioned? When you close your eyes, what do you see? Are the movies playing on constant stream?
I know there are people that experience it but right now it feels like just me.

Channel

Change the channel
my personality slips
not a new person
just an energy switch
a buzz and a pull
playing observer
yet my mind is full
scribble on the windows
journal a book
surprised by what came out
when I go back to look
words I don’t remember
words I’ve never seen
but words that sounds
like they were written for me
tuning in and tuning back out
never really purposeful
when wisdom starts to spout
elevated mood
amusement state
confidence to handle
what steps up to the plate
I quit shutting out the channel
favoring getting to see
what’s possible
embracing all parts of me

Much love, until next time.
