Do you know the willpower it takes to not tell someone they’re stupid as they’re saying something completely fucking stupid? Do you know the reaction time you have to have to catch those words before they launch from your mouth, laced with anger and hate? No one is stupid on account of a stupid belief. We all have held them at some point, and probably all hold at least one now. Do you know that they call it willpower because it has the power to create opportunities to expose, educate, and share different views that are less harmful? No, you are not stupid despite silly beliefs, but I won’t quietly listen to them being spouted in front of me.

Surfaces rage
during disagreements
injustice, pain, fear
laced meanings
can’t see past it
can’t agree to disagree
when you’re exhibiting hate
in front of me
it can be caught
like a disease
toxicity around

and I know that it’s true
