Poetry Series – Almost

The people willing to try, knowing they may fail, even when they fail – give me hope. To believe so strongly in something that you would give your life for it, is a gift. I feel grief for those lost, and to for those missed. Do you believe, for every loss, you’re closer to a win?

I do.

Almost

Close but no cigar

Picture this
Going in for a kiss
She turns her head, last second
You miss

Imagine
A near-perfect score
Coming in at 99
Just needed one more

Consider
There’s got to be a runner-up
Every time
There’s a true winner

Fuck

Envision
Finding the courage
To take your shot
And being so close
But still too far off

Much love, until next time.
