Poetry Series – Diamond Miner

I am profoundly in love with life again and I suppose I have no one to blame but myself.  I’m not sure I ever could have said that before – personal limitations, not circumstance.

Drawn in, I feel connected. Rooted, I reach to otherS, continually scanning and comminicating need.

Diamond Miner

They call us diamond miners
The way we dig deep,
withstand such dangerous conditions
In hopes of receiving a jewel
Still rough, tough as rock, unrefined
But the beauty not lost on these eyes
And I thought I was doomed, alone in the cave
Headlamp flickering, battery running dry as my canteen, Sahara
Until I caught a light from you
Could it be true?
Are you… A diamond miner too?

Or had I been alone so long, I’ve finally lost it, going cuckoo.

Much love, until next time.
