Poetry Series – Collapse

I’m not sure this is what I pictured when they said “London Bridge is falling down”.  Something told me bridges didn’t truly collapse.  That they are strong enough, sturdy enough, always well maintained points of connection.

I didn’t think we’d drop out of touch, just like that – falling arms.  Maybe I didn’t think ahead enough.  Maybe I ignored what was in front of me all along.

Collapse

We live in a city
Where points of connection crash
Due to lack of maintenance

So I guess I should have expected this.

Much love, until next time.
