Poetry Series – FOR EVERYTHING I NEVER THOUGHT I’D LIVE THROUGH

My mind has been riddled with controversy lately.

I’ve been learning to tight rope. Tiptoeing the line between what needs said and what can be put to rest silently.  Some things demand they get off your chest so, I’ve been post dating them.

A good reveal is slow, sexy. Laced with both fun and seductivity.

I know how the game works.  The abused always gets labeled crazy after you subject them to head games but my life is riddled with contrast and… I’m starting to see clearly again.

FOR EVERYTHING I NEVER THOUGHT I’D LIVE THROUGH

When I was 15, I would dream of drawing a line across my belly with a razor.
Unstuffing myself of all of the waxy yellow like the dumpster bags from fight club: soap scene.

This year, I’ll be 33.
I lovingly squeeze my belly.
The husband i was sure I’d never have tells me he misses when he could feel the babies as his hands press warmth in to me.

I don’t always know who I am anymore…
But I’m glad I live through 15.

Much love, until next time. ✌️
