I saw a comment on a FB post about an 18 year old that accidentally ran over one of his favorite teachers and the man approached the vehicle while it was moving, tripped and was hit. The comment “But do you throw em in jail cause someone still died?”, after acknowledging the trauma one must take on after an accident of that nature.
When are we going to start honoring our dead by nourishing the lives of those still living? When will we have something more to offer than corruption disguised as justice? When will we acknowledge death as a need to rest?
GRIEVING JUSTICE
Do we have nothing better to honor death than our prison systems?
It’s like the more death we’ve seen, the further removed we’ve gotten from it.
Oh? There was an accident? Lock em up and call it justice.
This is a land of no accidents without reprocussions.
Consequences unnatural because we’re only worried about feeding the hand that takes from you.
When is the last time you grieved and then grew without fear of what punishment was waiting for you?
When is the last time, you grieved and then grew?
Much love, until next time.
